Children’s growth center PPEC Providing Advanced Pediatric Medical & Developmental Care
The purpose of the Florida Medicaid Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) services is to enable recipients under the age of 21 years with medically-complex conditions to receive medical and therapeutic care at a non-residential pediatric center.
A PPEC is a non-residential center that serves three or more medically dependent or technologically dependent recipients
under the age of 21 who require short, long-term, or intermittent medical care due to medically-complex conditions. A PPEC offers services that meet the recipients’ physiological, developmental, nutritional, and social needs. Basic services includes development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive protocol of care, developed in conjunction with the parent or guardian, which specifies the medical, nursing, psychosocial, and developmental therapies required by the medically dependent or technologically dependent child served as well as the caregiver training needs of the child’s legal guardian.

For parents of children with complex medical needs, the challenge of finding quality child care can be overwhelming. For many of these parents, leaving their jobs to be full-time caretakers is not an option. They need income and healthcare benefits to help offset the costs of caring for a child with complex medical conditions.
How to start a PPEC.
At most PPEC centers, children with complex medical conditions can play and learn with other kids in a safe, nurturing environment, allowing their parents to work and attend school to provide for their families. PPEC offers more than just the typical healthcare provided at hospitals or doctor’s offices. We provide medical, nursing, psychosocial, developmental, and educational therapies along with playtime, meals, and snacks.
A Collaborative Medical Team Dedicated to Your Child’s Daily Care
Along with administrative staff and your child’s physician, we have several Registered Nurses who work as a team to provide the best medical, developmental and educational care for your child every day.
Children who need skilled nursing services on a daily or weekly basis often need licensed physicians to work with them on a regular basis too. We are proud to be one of the only physician-owned and operated PPECs in the
nation.

Who Pays for PPEC Services
Our services are 100% covered by those who are Medicaid eligible. Other insurances may also be eligible- give us a call
and we will help you sort through it! We do our best to handle any and all paperwork to keep from
burdening busy parents.
Who is Eligible for PPEC Services
Our PPECs treat patients with a wide variety of conditions that require skilled nursing care, where a doctor’s prescription
has been made for PPEC services. Our patients range from newborns to patients
under 21 years of age.
